Welcome to the blog for the benefit for Kim Assaley.

(Please read NEW, post-benefit POSTS below this text)

While riding her bike, a semi delivering ice cream turned in front of Kim. Her right heel was severely injured in the resulting collision.

Though Kim does have medical insurance, her rent and bills will go unpaid while she is not working. She also has prescription co-pay costs and the cost of any food and incidentals we, her friends, are unable to provide.

Kim is now at home resting between tri-weekly hospital visits, awaiting an uncertain number of surgeries before she can walk.

If you know her give her a call, she'd love to hear from you.

If you don't, and are interested in blowing off some holiday steam, this party would be the place to do it.

Often, fund raisers like this are how artists can afford to collect each other's work. Get in on this secret and help Kim by bidding in the silent auction.

Along with the silent art auction, there will be door prizes, bands, an auction for other items, stress relieving camaraderie, a DJ and the usual damn good bar burgers (substitute veggie selections where applicable).

You may know Kim as "Revolting Pussy Kim". She toured as a backup dancer/singer with the Revolting Cocks.

Hope to see you there!

More art for bid!

Here's a late entry for the silent auction:

"Nurture", a porcelain puzzle sculpture by Matt Schultz. It's illustrated here:

http://www.mattschultz.com/mainframe1.html

It's really beautiful, composed of several pieces of white porcelain which fit together like a puzzle (note: marble base shown in photo not included.)

I'll keep the auction open for one week, unless someone gripes that that's too short, and then I'll reconsider.

I'll start the bidding at $50.

Yes, that's kind of high for an opening bid on a silent auction, but I want this piece, so you'll have to pay up if you want it.

Thank you!

Thank you all for coming out, the event was a success! The 'lark was crowded, we raised a bunch of money, people got some great art and interesting stuff, and Kim had a blast.

Please link photos of the event in the comments of this post.

Stay tuned for more posts.

Comment if you want a t-shirt, they are twelve dollars plus postage. All twelve dollars go directly to helping Kim.
